Easter Weekend
We had a fun filled Easter weekend with the kids. This was the end of a great week off of school for Spring Break. Saturday, Granny and Gramps Bishop held a big party for the family. We had a great lunch and played three fun games. Drop the Duck, which was like Duck, Duck Goose, then we hunted for Easter eggs outside. Each child had to find a certain color of egg and they were filled with some fun toys, money and candy. Then we had a secret bunny hunt. There was one plastic bunny hidden in the yard and all of the kids had to look for it. Carter was the winner of the game. The last game was a scavenger hunt for a hidden Golden Egg. The kids all received some half dollars out of the egg. Then we had dessert and the kids all got a present from Granny and Gramps. It was a great party.
Today was fun as well, Easter Sunday. The kids got up to hunt for their baskets and find the eggs. Then it was a race to get ready for church by 9:00. We actually made it on time. It was a great block of meetings today. Then we came home to prepare for the Greaves family Easter Party late this afternoon. It was a joint Birthday Party for Grandma Greaves as well. We had a great dinner and then the kids had a scavenger hunt for a basket of presents. One small gift for each child. We all enjoyed fighting over who got to hold the new baby Leo and enjoyed just visiting and playing with one another. I took my camera with good intentions to take photos, but forgot……darn!
My favorite quote of the day was from Spencer……”Mom, are we close to Easter yet?” I was like…..” WHAT! What do you think today was? The baskets, the eggs, the party, the lessons on Jesus at church, etc. etc.” Then he said, “Well, we didn’t see the man dressed up like a bunny anywhere……isn’t that what we do on Easter?”
Somehow, I’ve completely failed my son at Easter this year. Oh well, there’s always next year, right?
